Connor Hellebuyck will make his debut with the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday when he starts against the Dallas Stars, head coach Sheldon Keefe announced.
The Devils acquired the star goaltender from the Winnipeg Jets last Friday, the same day his suspension for failing to report to training camp ended.
Hellebuyck, 33, is a three-time Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL’s top goalie and 2025 Hart Trophy recipient as the league MVP.
He has not played in an NHL game since April 13.
Hellebuyck was the star of the U.S. Olympic team that won the gold medal at the 2026 Winter Games in Milan Cortina. He made 41 saves as the U.S. beat Canada 2-1 in overtime in the final.
Hellebuyck had a down season by his standards in 2025-26, finishing 23-23-11 with a 2.86 goals-against average and a career-worst .895 save percentage. Winnipeg failed to make the playoffs, going 35-35-12.
In 625 career NHL games, Hellebuyck has a 345-208-55 record with 45 shutouts, a 2.58 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
